Pansies

We are wild with pansies everywhere in the garden.
My first painting back home in Holland is....
Pansies!

I'm rusty at paint oil because I painted watercolors in Texas.
This painting took longer than it should have.

 Stage One
I should have left it at that and stopped.

Stage Two
Little improvement and getting muddy which is to
say it is no longer fresh.

Last Stage
I quit. It is overworked and I lost the freshness
I wanted to convey. Last night while thinking in bed, it came to me to
do another one and begin at a different point like I do in
watercolors. If at first you don't succeed,
Try, try again!

My source for the painting.

Your painting is lovely, even if it isn't quite what you were hoping for. Please share your new one too! :)

Oh Jenny, I'm so happy to find out that this blog is not in the Google+ world! i've been wanting to write a comment to you, but it's not possible when I'm not a Google+ member (and I don't want to be as I have to show more of me than I want if I join in).

I love your paintings and I enjoyed your Blue Monday post with the peacock. I wish I could have one in my own garden ;-)

And now I will look at the link in your BM post, sounds like a nice place to visit when I go to your part of Europe next time.

Anni,
Now I see what you're talking about. Thanks for letting me know. I didn't know there was a problem.
